Azure vs AWS vs Google Cloud for Enterprise Applications

The right cloud is the one that fits identity, data residency, existing skills and the workload — not the one that won last year’s keynote.

Enterprises rarely choose a cloud in the abstract. They choose it in the presence of Active Directory, a data-residency constraint, a .NET estate, a data team that already lives in BigQuery, or a set of AWS accounts nobody wants to abandon. The useful comparison starts there.

Azure is often the path of least friction for Microsoft-centric organizations: identity, .NET, SQL Server and Microsoft 365 already define how people work. AWS remains a strong default for breadth of services and teams with deep cloud-native practice. Google Cloud is frequently the right answer for data platforms, analytics and certain AI workloads.

Multi-cloud as a slogan is expensive. Multi-cloud as a deliberate placement of workloads — a data platform here, an application estate there — can be rational. The architecture should make that choice explicit, including the networking, identity and operational cost of running more than one provider well.
